A 50,000 litre pressed square panel steel tank installed in the hills above Blikana near Sterkspruit, storing water for the local community's water supply.
A rural community in Blikana needed a dependable water store on a remote, rocky hillside at over 1,700 m altitude, where access is difficult and the tank had to withstand mountain weather.
A modular pressed square panel steel tank was delivered in flat panels and bolted together on site, set on a galvanised steel base frame over a concrete slab. The high position lets water feed down to the community by gravity, and the tank was fitted with a caged access ladder and roof guardrails.
The Blikana community now has 50 kL of stored water on hand for its daily supply.
This project was completed with our steel tank manufacturing partner, Videx, and published with their permission. We deliver the same engineering, manufacturing and installation standard for commercial, industrial, farming and residential water storage across Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Kariega (Uitenhage), Jeffreys Bay, East London and the wider Eastern Cape — plus temporary water bladder rentals while a tank is being built or repaired.
